How do I create an account?

Click the "Register" button in the top navigation. You'll need to provide a username and password. Registration is free and takes less than a minute.

Is ChordPlace free to use?

Yes! ChordPlace is completely free to use. You can create unlimited songs, organize your library, and access all features without any cost.

Using ChordPlace

How do I create a new song?

After logging in, click "New Song" in the navigation. Enter your song title, artist, and add your chords and lyrics in the content area. Use square brackets like [C] [G] [Am] [F] to mark chord positions above the lyrics.

What chord format should I use?

Use square brackets to mark chords: [C] [G] [Am] [F]. Place them above the lyrics where the chord changes occur. ChordPlace supports all standard chord notation including sharps (#), flats (b), and complex chords like [Cmaj7] or [G/B].

How do transpose and capo settings work?

Use the controls at the bottom of song pages to transpose songs to different keys or adjust for capo placement. Transpose changes the actual chords displayed, while capo settings help you play in different positions on the guitar neck.

Can I control who sees my songs?

Yes! When creating or editing songs, you can set them as Public (visible to everyone), Private (only you can see), or Shared (visible to specific usernames you choose).

Technical Questions

Does ChordPlace work on mobile devices?

Yes! ChordPlace is fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices. The interface adapts to smaller screens, and features like auto-scroll work great for practice sessions on your phone or tablet.

How does the auto-scroll feature work?

Click the "Scroll" button in the song controls to automatically scroll through the song at a steady pace. You can adjust the speed with the + and - buttons to match your playing tempo.

Is my data safe and backed up?

Yes, all your songs and data are securely stored and automatically backed up. Your private songs remain private, and we never share your content without your permission.
